Description

An easy tapas recipe to snack on until that late-night meal. Crispy puff pastry wrapped around bacon and prunes for a sweet and savory snack that pairs perfectly with a glass of red wine.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 78oz frozen puff pastry, thawed as directed on package
  • 12 dried prunes
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Prep a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 12 even pieces. Rectangles or triangles work best.
  4. Cut each slice of bacon in half and set aside.
  5. Take one piece of puff pastry and top it with a half slice of bacon and one prune. Roll this all up into a tight roll and seal the edge with a little water. Continue this process to finish the rest of the rolls.
  6. Place the rolls on your prepared baking sheet. Gently brush each roll with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake the rolls 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove and let cool on a wire rack. You can enjoy them still warm or let them cool to room temp.

Notes

These are great as part of a tapas spread or just on their own as an appetizer.
